If you recently changed your phone number and can't log into ADP because the verification text is going to an old number, this article explains the fastest approved ways to regain access, especially during W-2 season when security is tighter.
Common issues:
- I can't receive the ADP verification code (it goes to my old phone).
- I'm locked out of ADP due to text verification.
- I need my W-2 but can't log in.
- I moved and changed my phone number.
ADP uses multi-factor authentication (MFA) to protect payroll and tax data. If the phone number tied to your ADP login is outdated, verification texts may go to the wrong number.
Important: Updating your phone number in other systems (benefits portals, HR systems, etc.) usually does not update your ADP login or MFA settings.
The quickest way to regain access is to contact ADP Customer Service. They can verify your identity and help you:
- Receive the verification code via email instead of text (when available)
- Update your MFA method
- Restore access to your ADP account
What to have ready when you call: Full name · Company name: Eight Eleven Group · Email address on file · Current phone number · Any additional identity details ADP requests

Can Payroll just change my phone number?
Not without identity verification, and we generally ask you to contact ADP Support first. Phone number changes affect account security, especially during tax season.

I updated my phone number elsewhere, why didn't ADP update?
